THE SENIOR MEN'S CLUB OF NEW CANAAN
Meeting April 27, 2001, New Canaan Country Club
After the usual delicious N.C. Country Club luncheon, "lame duck" president Don Hunziker
opened the business meeting.
The first order of the day was to introduce Rod Geist, Head of the New Canaan YMCA.
Don thanked Rod for his cooperation and then presented him with a check for $5000 covering our
yearly dues. Rod gratefully accepted.
Don then called for a vote on the
constitutional amendment change making the incoming president a member of the
current nominating committee. The change was passed.
Past president Walt Hoffman then took the podium and presented the new slate of
officers and directors for the coming season. A vote was taken and the slate was
unanimously passed.
Mr. Hoffman then complained to Don about his last minute pardon of fellow member Bob
Moylan.
He nevertheless thanked the outgoing president for his service and presented him
with a gift of a beautiful silver bowl.
Mr. Hunziker thanked all the members for their help and friendship during his term
of office, and then introduced incoming president Lee Hindenach. Lee was given the
SMCNC tie and cow bell. Mr. Hindenach gave a brief speech and then closed the meeting.
